PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy policy explains how Duncan Moss / Mossy Music (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and looks after your personal information when you use www.duncanmossmusic.com (the “Site”), join Duncan’s Den, buy from the shop or get in touch. We’ve tried to keep it short and in plain English.
Who is responsible for your information
Duncan Moss / Mossy Music is the controller of your personal information. If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your information, please email duncan@duncanmossmusic.com.
What we collect
When you join Duncan’s Den or sign up for emails: your name, your email address and, if you choose to add one, your message.
When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you write to us.
When you buy from the shop: your name, email address, delivery address and order details. Payments are handled by our payment provider, and we never see or store your full card details.
When you visit the Site: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited, which our web server records for security and to keep the Site running properly.
How we use it, and why we’re allowed to
To send you emails about Duncan’s music, live streams and the Den, because you’ve given us your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
To reply to your messages and enquiries, because it’s in our legitimate interests to answer you.
To process and deliver your orders, because we need to in order to fulfil our contract with you.
To keep the Site secure and working, because it’s in our legitimate interests to do so.
To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping records for tax purposes.
We don’t sell, trade or rent your personal information to anyone, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the trusted service providers who help us run the Site, and only as far as they need it to do their job:
Resend, which sends our emails.
Our website hosting provider, whose servers are in the European Union.
Squarespace, which runs our online shop, and Stripe, which processes payments.
Some of these providers are based in, or use services in, the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent contractual protections.
How long we keep it
Email and Den sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Messages and enquiries: for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than two years.
Order records: for six years, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Website server logs: for a short period only, for security purposes.
Emails and unsubscribing
Every email we send tells you how to unsubscribe. You can also just reply with “unsubscribe”, or email duncan@duncanmossmusic.com, and we’ll take you off the list.
Cookies
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages include embedded videos from YouTube, and the Site uses a small number of technical cookies from the services that power it. These providers may set their own cookies, which are covered by their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the Site may not work properly if you do.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct anything that’s wrong;
ask us to delete your information;
ask us to restrict or stop using it, or object to how we use it;
ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, just email duncan@duncanmossmusic.com. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We’d be grateful if you’d give us the chance to put things right first.
